If you are asking what would Baldwin have made of Banks? I suspect he would have been both shocked and liberated by the way in which the label he rejected has been appropriated by rappers.
The sixties are gone and it's a messy world out there. This generation will make it's own mistakes.
Well, it's interesting if not really my cup of tea. I tend to check out anything you post here though because I am eternally grateful to you, Michael, for tipping me off about Teitur - an artist who I otherwise would probably have never encountered. I tend to be unimpressed with most new talent, and the hype is almost never justified in my opinion (bah humbug), but at last in Teitur I have found, thanks to you, a songwriter who is truly excellent and who matches some of the great songwriters of the past.
And golly, this is good.
ReplyDeleteKind of Subterranean Homesick Blues I think...
Well Mary Travers it aint but you've gotta hand it to the girl..... wow !
