QUAINTNESS OF THE RECENT PAST No.18

There's a terrific Short Cuts piece by Jeremy Harding on  photography, published in the London Review of Books on August 2nd this year (Vol. 34, no.15) in which, after reproducing this 1974 photograph taken in Whitby, North Yorkshire by Ian Berry, he writes that "So much of what photography has to say about appearance...is really about disappearance."
